Every mango we sell is a produce of our own trees from our farm. We don’t buy and sell mangoes from other growers.
Our farm is situated overlooking the scenic Gangapur dam near Nasik, Maharashtra, India, which is about 180 Km. north of Bombay. Basically an earthen dam, it accumulates pure, pollution-free mountain water during the rains. We have Alphonso and Kesar varieties as the principal plantation, with a significant number of trees of Chousa, Langda, Dasheri, Payari, and Ratna to complete the ensemble. Comprising principally of Alphonso and Kesar varieties, our orchard is sloped gently to give our trees a daily sunset panorama. There is adequate inter–plantation of wild mango trees for cross-pollination. This ensures healthy and disease-resistant fruit.
Distinct from the Konkan region which is traditionally considered the mango heartland of India, our farm has the endowment of a unique micro-climate and micro-geological location which has a magical effect on virtually on all our produce. Our soil is rich in natural micro nutrients such as boron, molybdenum, calcium, zinc, magnesium and has an extraordinary water draining strata, several meters deep. Our farm has a moderate rain fall, virtually no storms with only a mild breeze in the evenings, testing summers and pleasant winters. The fruiting season is extraordinary conductive for the mango. In other parts of India, it takes 110-130 days for the plucking cycle of the Alphonso. At Datar Farm it takes between 140-165 days for peaceful maturity. We employ an absolutely natural method for ripening our mangoes. The process is proprietary and uses no chemicals what-so-ever. Our process ensures that the fruit ripens almost meditatively. The lusciousness of the flesh is also maintained. The experience on your taste buds is the result of this alchemy which can’t be duplicated.
